March 2010. FCL today releases a proprietary upgrade to UMIS and IBIS that reduces the attainable noise floor of the force and depth sensors by an order of magnitude. This upgrade is a proprietary software sampling algorithm and is implemented in the IBIS software. It applies to hardware-upgraded UMIS and all IBIS instruments. The upgrade is provided free of charge for support users via the normal software update.

Oct 2009 After many years of production of UMIS and IBIS at the CSIRO Laboratories at Lindfield, Fischer-Cripps Laboratories is pleased to announce the purchase of their own building and will be shortly moving all production and development into these new premises in Sydney.

Sept 2009 Self-install option now available. The IBIS system is so simple, robust and reliable that we now offer a cost-saving measure for our prospective customers. The system can be shipped in specialised packaging, then installed and tested by the customer using illustrated step-by-step instructions. On-line live help is provided as part of this service. Traditional attended installation and training always remains an available option.

Jan 2009 IBIS 2 software Fischer-Cripps Laboratories releases IBIS2 nanoindentation software for its UMIS and IBIS instruments. This is a new implementation of the software using the VB.NET language.

Jan 2009 IBIS Nanoindentation System released The IBIS nanoindentation system is now available as an update to the UMIS standards-grade nanoindenter. The IBIS system retains the exact same circuitry and sensors that characterise UMIS, but house the hardware in an economical head and frame assembly with a choice of fitments to suit available budget.
